Today we went to the Daehak-ro area where there is a village. This area is on a mountainside, and in some areas, there are great views of the city. A notable thing about this area is how densely packed it is. Not in terms of population, (although in these terms it is mildly dense) but in terms of buildings and structures. The streets are extremely narrow and steep, with many small residencies, and some small businesses that are simply one small room. So when it comes to this area, there’s not a lot of room for green space. The whole area is actually pretty much concrete or buildings. However, this doesn’t deter residents and people in the area. Many residents and shops have lots of potted plants on, around, and in the buildings. People in the area clearly still value nature and try to incorporate it into their daily lives.
Pictured first is a street, showing how dense the area is, pictured second are some plants that people have still managed to squeeze into this dense area.

Love the way the space is "brightened" and beautified by the colorful plants (and even the different pots!) Maybe I need to consult with you when you get home about how too accomplish something similar. Can't wait to see you again, Julia.
