Due to flight complications I didn't make it to Seoul until about 8:30pm. So I did miss the entire day of activities. I would like to still talk about my experiences in Asian culture today, and relate some things back to my min topic, use of green space. Because I missed the flight to Seoul, I traveled to Tokyo, then to Seoul. While I was flying into Tokyo, I noticed a few things on the ground, in suburban areas surrounding the city of Tokyo. Aside from a few neighborhoods, warehouses, and industrial complexes, there were three things that stood out to me. There are many rice fields in this area, when I got closer to the ground, I could tell they were filled with water. There were also a very high number of golf courses, which provides a lot of green space to suburban Tokyo. Lastly, there were many large solar farms in these city outskirts. No doubt providing lots of renewable energy for the city. In the photo included, you may be able to make out all three of these things.
